Ultrasonic Metal Welding Machine

A servo-driven ultrasonic metal welding machine built for multi-layer tab, busbar and foil joining — 15–40 kHz, 800–12000 W and up to 8000 N of weld force, with the energy and force curve of every weld logged on screen.

Product Overview

Solid-state joining for tabs, busbars and foil stacks

This is the heavier welding head in our metal welding range: where the handheld spot welder handles single terminals and wire ends, this machine is built for multi-layer tab stacks, busbars and foil packs. Fixture, anvil and horn are machined to your part geometry, then frequency-tuned and trial-tested before the machine ships.

Ultrasonic welding joins copper and aluminium layers below melting point. The vibration scrubs the contact surfaces clean and bonds them without filler, flux or shielding gas, so contact resistance stays low and the metallurgy around the joint is not annealed. Power, frequency and tooling are configured around your stack — layer count, foil thickness and joint footprint.

Why INTOP

Six things buyers check on a metal welder

Battery-line ready

Engineered for tab, busbar and foil-stack joining in lithium-ion cell and pack lines.

Wide power range

800 W to 12000 W — matched to layer count and material thickness.

Servo weld control

Closed-loop servo force and depth control with on-screen weld-energy curves for every cycle.

High weld force

Up to 8000 N output pressure for dense multi-layer stacks.

One-screen monitoring

Industrial display shows force, displacement and energy traces — quality traces saved per weld.

Line integration

Standard I/O and fieldbus interfaces connect to PLCs and automation cells.

How It Welds

Multi-layer joining without melting the foil

Battery tabs and busbars demand joints that stay cool, conduct well and survive vibration for years. Because the layers are bonded below melting point, the joint keeps its conductivity and there is no heat-affected zone to weaken the surrounding material.

The machine can run manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic stations. The servo drive controls force and depth in closed loop while the generator tracks resonance automatically, so cycle-to-cycle results stay repeatable through a full shift — and every weld is logged, so process drift is caught early.

Where It Is Used

Three joints this machine is bought for

  • Wire Harness & Terminals

Spot welding of copper terminals, wire ends and braided connectors in automotive and appliance harnesses.

  • Battery Tab Joints

Joining foil and tab material in cell assembly and repair work — from single tabs to dense multi-layer stacks.

  • Electronics & Contacts

Welding contact parts, busbar stubs and shield joints where solder heat is a risk to nearby components.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Can you weld my sample first?

Yes. Send us your tabs, foil stack or terminals and we run the weld in our application lab, then return the tested parameter set with photos and, if you need it, pull-test results.

How do I match the transducer to the generator?

Send the transducer model or its capacitance value. We check frequency, capacitance range and horn weight against the generator platform and confirm the match before you order.

Can the fixture and tooling be adapted to our part geometry?

Yes — welding horn, anvil and fixture are machined in-house from your 3D file, then frequency-tuned and trial-tested on your parts before shipping.

What is the lead time?

Standard configurations ship fastest; custom power, frequency or tooling adds engineering time. Tell us your part and target output and we quote lead time with the configuration.

Send us your metal parts for a free weld test

Share the material, layer count, thickness and joint footprint. We weld your samples in our application lab and return the recommended machine configuration, tooling drawing and parameter set — usually within 2-3 working days.
